Calculus Instruction Enhancement

The Department of Mathematical Sciences initiated a project whose aim is to use state-of-the-art computer graphics to visualise mathematical structures. A number of upper division undergraduate and graduate courses are currently taught interactively in a special classroom equipped with Silicon Graphics workstations and an LCD-panel. We are using Maple and Mathematica with both linked to Geomview. Macsyma is also available.

Based on student requests, four new courses have been added:

  1. Glimpses of Mathematics
  2. Visualizing Mathematics by Computer
  3. Mathematics on the Web
  4. Computational Mathematics
