Mathematics Major

  • Have a broad perspective on modern mathematics and its applications.
  • Master basic mathematical ideas and techniques in calculus, abstract algebra, analysis, geometry, differential equations, probability, and statistics.
  • Be able to analyze quantitative information and apply advanced mathematical techniques and concepts where appropriate.

Applied and Computational Mathematics Major

  • Be able to analyze quantitative information and apply mathematical and computational techniques and concepts where appropriate.
  • Be able to effectively communicate rigorous mathematical ideas and reasoning.

Math Minor

  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic mathematical concepts, ideas and techniques in calculus, linear algebra, and elementary differential equations.
  • Be able to analyze quantitative information and apply mathematical techniques and concepts in other disciplines.
  • Be able to communicate mathematical arguments.

Statistics Minor

  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic mathematical and statistical concepts, ideas, and techniques.
  • Be able to analyze quantitative information and apply statistical reasoning in other disciplines.
